just to confirm, you have a generic honda harness that plugs into the
car that was previously attached to the old pioneer harness?
if so, here are the wire codes:
Alpine 9856 harness:
(from http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/Man...00CDA9856.PDF)
blue power antenna
blue/white amp remote turn on
pink/black audio interrupt
orange illumination
red switched power
yellow unswitched power
black ground
gray RF speaker +
gray/black RF speaker -
violet RR speaker +
violet/black RR speaker -
green LR speaker +
green/black LR speaker -
white LF speaker +
white/black LF speaker -

generic Honda harness (EIA standard colors):
(not all of these wires may be present in the harness)
blue power antenna
blue/white amp remote turn on
brown audio interrupt
orange illumination
orange/white dimmer
red switched power
yellow unswitched power
black ground
gray RF speaker +
gray/black RF speaker -
violet RR speaker +
violet/black RR speaker -
green LR speaker +
green/black LR speaker -
white LF speaker +
white/black LF speaker -

as you can see, the colors match except the audio mute, though it's
unlikely the honda harness even has the audio mute wire. seems
like the advice to color match the wires, taping off any extras
should get you going. Now if the issue is that instead of installing
the pioneer w/ a honda harness, the P.O. cut off the car's plug,
that's a different situation.
