Dci Installed?

I brought mine in to get installed on Friday but it didn't work. After about 2 hours of working at it the tech got out an ammeter and was only getting 10-12ma whether he was hitting buttons or not. The mute was working, but nothing else. It's a professional place that I brought mine too, same place that did my install so I'm hoping it's just a bad DCI. My head unit is an Eclipse 8454 and was working with the shitty DCI I got from Crutchfield, so again I don't think compatibility was the problem. Anybody else have this sort of issue that a new DCI fixed?

The butcher's knife is just a knife that has a flat cutting edge (typically these need to be sharpened so most people don't buy them).
Regardless, we took it out last night and tried out the speed-controlled volume feature. We both agreed that it worked fairly well, but I would have liked to be able to set different levels based on whether or not the windows are up. Occasionally we will put the windows up to make it easier to talk or to keep her hair from blowing all over the place. Otherwise, it seems to work quite well.
