Default Dension ICELink for iPod/OEM HU

for those of you that have installed the Dension ICELink where are you putting the cradle? are you cutting the into the cup holder and putting you iPod in there - or soemthing else?

if you've installe the NEO (without the cradle) where are you keeping your iPod?

thanks...

I have the cradle mounted to the right of the center console near the dash (basically where the passenger's left knee would be if they pushed it against the console). I had a black angle bracket for rack-mounting network equipment, and it happened to work great. One part of it is attached to the plastic side panel on the front edge of the console/dash, to the right of the radio (it's removable), and the cradle attaches to the other part of it.

From the shifter, I just move my hand to the right and there's the iPod. Normally I don't control it while driving -- just start a playlist or play by artist/album when I get in the car, and do everything else with the dash radio controls.

BTW, I found the iceLink's method of navigating playlists to be cumbersome, so I turned it off. I use the iPod's controls to navigate through the music (by any criteria, not just playlists) and use the dash controls to skip tracks and control volume. Works real well.

If I have time tomorrow, I'll snap a picture.

Originally, I had intended to store my connection in the center console under the sliding "metalic" door. However, I'm glad I ended up not doing that. I glance down at my ipod often as I don't use too many play lists and even when I do I like to skip around. So, I want to take a look at the name of the song a lot. I just ran the wire along the side of the center console and just leave the ipod on top of the "metal" slidding door. Also, I ordered my ice link with a mini plug instead of the cradle so that I wouldn't have to take my ipod out of its case every time I get in the car.
