I GOT HER TODAY!!

First impressions:

The trunk is teenie teenie tiny. I mean really really really small. The spare is already out. Did I mention that the trunk is tiny!

The stock system couldn't be worse. Are those tweeter "whizzers" or what?! My music never sounded so awful! The tweeter placement isn't as bad as I thought it would be, though.

I'm struggling to keep the RPM's under 5gs. I hafta to do this until 650 miles, right? I'll let my wife do some of the driving now.

Handles great. Cozy in Feb. with the top down. Florida is nice. No mountain roads though.

She is real pretty, and Phil isn't going to get the stock rims, at least not for a year or two.

I have to wait for a month to get my new headunit and parts for the system. Sweet deals can take time I'm afraid. Just gives me more time to create diagrams and wiring charts for the installer. I won't do the installation myself. I've got a shop in Tampa that's supossed to be the TITS.

Plus the whole electrical system in an auto is a nightmare for me. This is probably not news to those of you who have read my "Let's try to help Phil out" posts. I'll help where I can, but I'll let Phil, John, and Dave talk shop when it comes to installing systems.

I know what sounds nice, I can draw diagrams like crazy, (I do web design graphics for $$$) and I've got friends in the biz so I'm good for info, but that's about it. I'll help where I can!

Anyway guys thanks for all your help. You all have been great.

it came early?

welcome to the club.

yup -- stock stereo blows like a cheap hooker on a Friday night. and if you think yours is bad... the MY00 and MY01's were only 4 Wrms / channel and had paper coned speakers w/ whizzers.

and i seem to recall mentioning that the trunk was small... it definitely changes how you think about what people are getting into it, heh?
pictures can truly be amazing in fooling you on its size...

btw, if you've already ditched the spare, don't forget to pull out the tools tray and tray cover as well since you won't be needing those.

check your oil... at every fill up.

also, be sure you know where the gas tank door pop is before you pull into the station...
and finally, have you found the secret compartment yet?

Wow......havent been on here in a while. Miss this place.....

Welcome to the club Bill. I am sorry to hear your stockies are 5.25 (ummmm....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH SUCKA!) but im sure well get around it.

As far as a 12"......if you can spring it, The phoenix gold sub (ti12Delite) is an amazing sub. Pricy though. Installed a few of them, and the sound is simply amazing.

However, you can look around and see what suits you best.

I just got my changer, and cant wait to put that bad boy in. Too bad its 12 degrees outside.....DAMMIT!

Yes I live right damn smack in the middle of NYC. When I drive in Manhattan, it looks like I am autocrossing because I swerve to avoid those pesky potholes. Not as bad as everyone thinks. The highways are pretty decent.

I've got friends all over the city. I'm there at least three times a year. If i lived there I would have a fast old beater, maybe even an old chevy pickup truck. The s2000 is a crazy car to own there, epecailly with a sick sound system.

I've got alot of respect for you now NFR. You are truly nuts.
