Default k40 help!

Hello

I was wondering if any of you guys out there have the K40 installed? The Laser Diffuser Plus as well as the radar detectors in the front and back?

I will be getting it installed this week most probably and just wanted some feedback on your opinions of this very expensive system.

Thanks.

I have it with only a front laser diffuser and radar detector.

I have never been able to test the laser diffuser part. I like the system because its made to be stealth modded. I don't have experience with other detectors to say its better or worst. One annoying thing about mine is that because its stealth modded and placed under the hood I couldn't turn it off. I ended up adding switches to mute the sound. So when I'm at a stop light and random radar is hitting me it stops making the warning sounds. Mine is an older model but it does tell u if its from in front or behind you.

k40 is a huge waste of money. They simply dont work. Sell it (if you already bought one). And before someone calls me out on "hating" Ive owned one. They are good for nothing paperweights. Get a V1 or 8500 and keep the change.

<chuckle> Yeah, someone in our group has/(had?) on of the K40's... drove our V1's nuts whenever we were within about 50' of it. Talk about piss poor shielding on that sucker. I couldn't say how good it was, but if memory serves, he was trading over to a V1 at some point...

What a shame. I had a K40 back in 1991 or thereabouts, and it was great. I've read many reports that it just isn't up to snuff lately.

This is a real shame, because they have the cleanest "stealth" installs I have seen.

Dont experiment...there are only two radars worth their weight in plastic, and they are the V1 and the 8500. Everything else is just a beeper. Like Ive stated in many other radar threads....I have personally...with the exception of the 8500, owned all radars....obviously not all....but I had the top of the line model of every brand., Cobra, Uniden, Vector, K40 Passport, etc. None of them were any good.
