can i use Modifry's DCI for the Kenwood KDC-MP628 DCI?

Kenwood HU's are not listed on his website for the hardwire version:

Modifry.com DCI

But he does list Kenwood HUs that have IR interfaces....

One wire from the DCI to behind the passenger dash access cover. You can then T-tap it into the speed signal at the Convertible Top module. Photos and instructions are in the installation manual on my web site install page.

Here's a photo of some doofus installing a T-tap on the speed signal wire. The black box with the blue label is the Convertible Top module.
