Before I give you a recommendation for amps, lets find out what we are doing....

Were are you putting the amp? I am assuming you are ditching the spare since you are getting a sub (remember, keeping the spare does nothing, as you will have nowhere to store the flat.)....

Now, for components, you can get these,

Alphasonik PCT-6501
I installed these in my friend's jeep, and the sound was fantastic. They come with silk tweeters, but if you like your treble harsher, you can purchase aluminum ones. (very very bright)

For amps, a bunch of members on this board are running their amps, and are very pleased. You can have their High current line (they can support 1 ohm) which is the PMA64OHCA or the Bi Polar model which is the PMA4150A. The Hi current model is more powerful, and 3 inches smaller. If you were going to install this on an amp rack, this would be a good choice. You can always use an MRV 545 from alpine.

Let me know if anything here is appealing, or if you need other ideas. I got buckets full of them.

(I assume you dont want cheap sh!t, hence me not recommending anything on the lower spectrum)

Yes I do plan on removing the spare and all that stuff...

I'm looking at those Alphasonik speakers and they look pretty nice. I can't find any reviews on them though. 200 rms! Those must be really really loud. How would they compare to the Kappa Perfects, do you think?

And yes, I want quality parts for this car

edit: If I got this amp http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=14170 would it be able to power both PCT-6501s at 150 and then the sub at 300 using the 2 rear channels bridged? Ahhh this is so confusing

Yes, but you wont have any hearing left, and your friends will have to write everything they say to you, because your ear drums will look like donuts.

The point of getting an amp like this, is that they are too powerful. Which means you will be giving your speakers plenty of juice, and the amp isnt breaking a sweat. To explain a bit more....say for instance you want 100wrms for your speakers. If you get an amp that is 100wrms, you will be running your amp at maximum capacity. This in turn, makes the amp run hot, and kills its lifespan. However, if you got an amp that has 150wrms, and you only need 100, you are not running the amp at max, and as a result, you will have a cooler running amp, it will last longer, and IMHO perform better.

The only issue is, this is a LONG amp. Its 22"

Its a great amp, but a long one. So, if you like it, and want it, you need to have a plan of attack on how to mount it. The best way would be to get Jim's (Pas2kNUT) spare tire cover, and mount it right in the middle. Then maybe throw a neon over it, yadda yadda yadda. (If you are into the bling thing.

I dont have any written reviews on these speakers, just first hand. Ive used 2 pairs of speakers from them. First my friend bought the 800 series 4x6s for his jeep (for $80 shipped) just to see how good the speakers are. First of all, besides sound, let me just say that I have never seen a company package things like Alphasonik. They include everything with speakers, wires, crimps, diagrams, mounting rings, (not spacers) etc etc. My friend and I were amazed. Then we installed them. They sounded AMAZING. One of the best speakers Ive heard for this money. After that, he was convinced that they make quality products, and got another set of speakers, only this time the top of hte line carbonkevlar components (same as the ones I am telling you to get, just 5.25") I was very impressed as well. They handled all the power I threw at them, didnt distort, didnt bang the coils, nothing. Quality product in my book. Their amps are very nice as well. If you mount it the way i described, its a nice show piece...the top of their amps really is good looking. Overall, if I was George Forman, I would guarantee that you would be happy with this setup. But I am not him, so Ill just say youll have a smile. I can however, guarantee that youll make your ears bleed if you turn than amp up all the way.

Now that sounds like what I'm looking for. Your example says the speakers only need 100 rms though - the Audiosonik component sets you linked me to are 200. Isn't underpowering this much too bad for both amp and speaker?

Trust me, at 100-125 rms, thats not underpowering. Remember, that number just means what the speaker can play safely. At 125rms, you will not be able to hear the car in VTEC anymore. Its stupid loud.
