I was thinking of buying an older iPod. I run the Alpine KCE-422i high speed cable from my Alpine CDA-9887 and it doesn't charge my 2nd GEN Touch. I ran into the Scosche passPORT while searching in the internet and bought it on Ebay today. $27 shipped.

so i have the older oem ipod adapter, it only works with my nano and doesnt work with my iphone, i know above is mentioned that its to make the alpine unit work, but would this be a solution for me to use my iphone with that ipod adapter as well? thanks
You might want to clarify what you mean by "doesn't work". These are just charging adapters.

So that product that allows 3g iphones and ipods to charge should work with all iphone accessories? I installed an Eclipse ipod/iphone cable to work with my eclipse head unit. It worked great with my 2g iphone and charged and all but now it still will play through it but will not charge anymore. This item should correct that right?
Really sucks not being able to charge it when listening as the battery will die pretty quickly.
