Picking out pieces for my system

I meant punchier as tighter response, more stocatto between notes.
Personal preference

And...I'm not a big fan of Alpine (as most people on this forum know, lol). I ran Alpine HUs for years (top of the line even) and always had issues with the way their sound was reproduced. Finally the faceplate on the last one I had broke (one of the buttons) so I replaced it with an Eclipse 8495 and the sound was so much smoother, cleaner, more natural. I haven't looked at Alpine since. (and again, PDX amps are all Class D - I don't care what switching freq you use, you can't match the performance of a high quality Class A/B)

I gotcha. I prefer a smoother, more natural sound.

BTW, Polk sucks. Their crossovers fell apart, and the sound was subpar when compared to my Alpine speakers. Again, I do prefer my Alpine amps over my old JL stuff.
