question about grounding amps.
heres the problem guys. Yes I have used the search could not find a definitive answer. If you mount your amp behind the passenger seat, where is the best place to ground it? I grounded it to the bolt that holds the seat to the floor. When I went to turn the car on I had no power to the amp. I was to tired to try and debug the problem, but was just wondering if it could be that the amp is not grounded well. I was thinking about trying to ground it to the seatbelt bolt on my lunch break to see if this helps. I checked all the fuses they where good, the RCA's are connected right, the remote wire is connected right, there is a good connection at the battery. I'm clueless above and beyond that. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Double check your ground....again. Make sure the area where you ground it is metal to metal, scrape off the paint! Then rebolt back on....if thats not working? then take the remote wire (blue etc.) and connect it straight to the power wire...that should atleast make it turn ON but don't leave it this way cuz amp will/might stay ON 4ever and drain battery! If that don't work?.....Then its a fucc'd amp and thats what happen when you buy on EGAY! (ebay)

DO NOT CONNECT THE GROUND TO THE SEAT BOLT!!!!!
God forbid something sparks, your carpets will light up. Take off the rear panel (with the fake vents) and ground it to the stock ground (gold bolt) in the spare tire area.
Also, make sure your remote wire is a good and tight.

Ok I will remove it and change the location of the ground. I did some tests while I was on break, and ddiscovered this: There is power coming to the amp from the Battery. I ran a lead wire from the ground on the amp to the negative on the battery to make sure the gorund was good, still no luck.
The power is coming to the amp, I do know this via a voltage meter. Not sure why it's not working.
I considering the fact that the Amp might be bad I hope this is not the case but I'm not sure about anything else.

Glad you figured it out. My theory with connecting blue wire from amp to same power on amp was just to check if the amp is working. Amp will remain on constantly so you can't hook it this way just testing it unless you want to be ghetto. You should always make sure you find a GOOD ground before even connecting the power wire to be safe and not cause fire/shock. GL.
