How hard is it to take the panels off the door and replace the speakers with a Sony 1621? How many hours of work? Any tricks I should know?

It is not difficult. I was VERY careful and I had to cut the speaker baskets to fit the speakers I bought. Still only took a little over 1 hr. The online directions are more than adequate. Good luck!

With the Sony's that I bought, it took me a grand total of 20 minutes, maximum, to install both of them. Not a problem at all, but then again, it wasn't the first time I've taken Honda door panels off.

Good luck!

Sony XS-V1621 perfect fit no cutting and sound 100% better. If you buy the speaker adapter plug for a 99 Honda Accord it's plug and play.

Another confirmation on the 1621's - no sweat takes about an hour. And you can use the stock wiring by carefully removing the plastic clips off of the blade connectors.

I installed a set of 1621's this weekend and boy what a difference! Music is like a whole new experience. Thanks for all the tips and the installation instructions. It was a snap to do.
