Well I tried the matchstick trick you suggested. I found the gap but it's so tight I'm unable to fit the matchsticks in it....I can't even get a finger nail, cd, or small screwdriver into that it's flush and tight. but yes I confirmed the rattle is the tray.

 

Try something thinner than a matchstick.

^ I agree. There is no way I can fit something in that gap. It is flush, almost seamless.

 

perhaps it's been changed between ap1 and ap2

 

there's zero gap in my ap2
