Regardless. if you want to run highpower componets off a headunit your wasting your time.

If anyone thinks a HU puts out even close to a true 18W RMS...you bought a big load of bull thrown at you by the manufacturer. Congrats.

Reality is that most of them put down less than 10Wrms/channel. Not close to enough to power a quality set of speakers.

That means that the 18 watts at 4 ohms effectively doubles. Also the re audio are a high quality set of components.

I've been a car stereo freak for quite some time, followed the SQ comps for a while now, MB Quart and Oz Audio are the only two brands of speaker that have ever got a perfect score, which sucks because MB quart got bought out and OZ Audio went under. If not I would have told him to get either of the two. I'm not here to get in a pissing match with anybody, he asked, I suggested, so my question is, what do you suggest? what brand? why do you suggest them?
And as for MB Quarts and OZ Audio earning whatever "perfect score"...by who? I would be willing to bet that any real car audio forum you went on would tell you that SEAS, ScanSpeak, Rainbow, etc completely blow away the SQ of MB Quarts and OZ Audio. But then, to see the difference, you'd have to be willing to take the time to look at the freq response graphs for each speaker...

Truth is the SEAS separates I have in my truck (that I spent $240 on) present a more accurate reproduction (clearer, more music information replayed) of music than any MB Quarts (past and present). See, MB Quart has this thing where they simply make the music incredibly bright - and then use that to cover up that their speakers don't really replay the music that well... Music isn't just the highs (or how loud it sounds) - it's the sum of all the frequencies, and that is somewhere that MB Quart and OZ (and most manufacturers) fall short.

most people dont know what true reproduced sound should sound like, the difference in using the higher end equip, focal, hertz, rainbow, is a night and day difference, and to compare a head units power and sound to a quality amp is a joke,
Right off the start getting good sound out of the s2000 is hard - it is a convertible, so sound deaden your doors vey well, use a very good door speaker, put some good amount of power to them, and add a sub, any thing else will be wasting your money leaving you wanting more.
I will keep you tuned on the little project sub box i am working on, loss of almost no space and outstanding bass.
