Since that can happen at stock power levels, would you rather have a "fast"car you are worried about breaking, or a slow car you are worried about breaking?

That's just silly talk. That's like saying, "well, you could get hit walking across the highway with your eyes open so why not walk across with your eyes closed?"

I don't think anyone would argue that the probability of part failure increases rapidly with additional power.

The question is: would you rather have a fast car that breaks quickly or a slow car that breaks slowly.

No, what your saying is silly. It's a part with a know vulnerability. Increased torque absolutley increases the probability of failure. Do we need to take a poll? I guarantee there are way more FI guys with a blown second gear, and out of the total amount of s2k owners only a small percentage are FI.

Regardless, this isn't going to keep me from going FI.

I'm saying that "worry" is not digital. It's not about whether you're worried, it's about how worried you should be. That's why the fast / slow comment was silly.

I personally wouldn't boost a car I wasn't financially prepared to support and upgrade the car in all needed respects. I don't like the "cross the fingers and pray" method of building.

I think this is one of the few points I dont agree with u. I figure fix it when it breaks , if it breaks. Cause the statement those with boosted cars break trans is not the same as the trans that broke were in boosted cars.

In a race car everything that is "weak" needs to be upgraded so you can stay competitive, as down time can cost you the race. In most street cars, you upgrade to go faster or when something breaks.
