Maybe he just couldn't drive a manual transmission properly... It doesn't take long to mess up a transmission if you aren't driving right.

Here is a question. If I am looking to make approx 300wtq, and limiting my boost (tq) in 1st & 2nd, would putting in a clutch with slightly less grip than a sprung 6 puck also help to soften the blow to the trans? I am thinking about the Comp Clutch stage 3.5, but a lot of people I talk to are trying to talk me into the stage 4 sprung 6 puck. I would much rather roast a clutch than blow up 2nd... But in this thread there a lot of posts saying they are blowing up 2nd while rolling, not while shifting, so this may have nothing to do with it. Thoughts?

you should be fine with a disc clutch solution. look what i make and i rock a stage 3 CM disc clutch/ap1 flywheel. holds just fine and i have railed it quite a few times.

Just made over 300wtq recently. AP1 Flywheel, Stock PP, ACT HD Disc. Best solution IMO.

Honestly, the cost of a tranny and rear are pushing me to sell this f@#king thing. Solid rear will cost 4k, and a trannt soltions, albiet V160 or a Gearset will be another $8-10k, Im f@#king tired of it.............

This is why I will stay under 550whp and I will just buy stock replacement peices as I break them. Maybe if I made f@#k you money I'd do it. But I don't currently make that lol.

I see used , fairly low mile AP2 trannies on Ebay for like a K, might just be better to build a rear and replace trannies as they break, 10K can buy you a few years worth of trannies, lol
