I´m pretty sure the housing is weak as well, a week before my tranny blew I had gear noise and my tuner said it sounded like the gears were separated.
The gears only touch each other tip to tip when this happens and get a lot weaker.

I´ve seen people machine plates to mount outside the gearbox to stop the housing from flexing but again, not worth it in this case.
This gearbox can be compared to a motorcycle gearbox with thin and fast shifting gears but not really ready for the torque we throw at them.

 

I have heard that too, but from what I understand of the whole process it helps. There has to be a reason puddydaddy cryo treats every diff he sells too I figure

 

man this suck's, all this power and we cant even fully use it. ...... sounds like im just better off buying 1-2 tranny's n just have em sitting around in case lol

 

What's the max torque that the ap2 tranny can take??

I'm thinking about getting a kraftwerks high boost kit and just want to cover all bases.. I didn't know people were killing second gear until 5 minutes ago..

It seems like only the turbo guys are blowing them up, so it must be the torque or much higher hp..

 

yea, don't worry about it with the kraftwerks kit. the kit will destroy itself before your tranny will

Sigh...guess I'll have to limit my 2nd gear pulls, but they're sooo fun. But I can still WOT, hit full boost at 5k, and let go without worrying right? lol
