After the keys were installed, I reset/rechecked all the valve clearances (.008 intake & .010 exhaust). You could probably do it without loosening the rockers but I did not want to risk damage to the cam towers. Now ready to get it retuned (Feb 8th! )!
This is identical to what we did with mine last night. Went ahead and checked the rest of them while we were there too.

Just got done installing mine tonight, +2 -1 configuration. I'm currently doing other upgrades but should be done and hopefully tuned in the next 2 weeks. Stock F22, SOS 1220 w/9psi pulley (basically a stage 2), AEM, ID1000's, 60mm test pipe and stock exhaust with electric cutout. Currently running SOS stage 1 through stock exhaust and 60mm testpipe, gained 90 hp from stock for a total of 16.36hp per psi. I'm going to the same dyno and will post the results but unfortunately it's no where near as hot as it was when I had my last dyno (102*) so it will be slightly skewed.

Guys,

How long does this take to do, start to finish? and how does one stop the chain from slipping a tooth whilst taking apart?

Cheers

If you've done it before, an hour and possibly less... Following the service manual and first time, 2 hours.

Wow is that all, not as bad as i originally thought.

Will get hold of the service manual, the other problem i can forsee is the chain slipping - is there a possibly or way to stop it happening or will it not happen?

This is something I havent done yet on the s so I could be wrong, but I dont think your messing with the chain at all, the cams with gears your removing dont have a chain on them.

Yeah, you don't mess with the chain at all and there are timing marks that line up, you can tell if they move. Moving 1 tooth on the cam(s) or the crank moving will move these dots way out of whack, it's definitely noticeable. Just remember, you'll have to have a vice to break the bolts holding the cam gears as well as torquing them back on..maybe 86ft/lbs but don't quote me on it (I wouldn't recommend using an impact although the thought crossed my mind once or twice before we figured out how to situate the wrench and vice to break them loose).

Hi,

So i installed the keys the other day piece of cake really and no where as difficult as i thought

However the results are disappointing, its as if the car has only responded ever so slightly to the keys about 8-9 BHP @FLY up top (on further inspection i initially thought it was 12BHP) and about 2 lb/ft in places - these are the figures at the fly BTW.

I specifically followed the instructions and got someone else to validate esp the numbers facing etc.

My specs are

Comptech supercharged with aftercooler @ just under 10psi
63 testpipe
63 5zigen singlepipe exhaust
tracysports header
+2 on the exhaust, -1 on the intake.

Thanks
