I have BEEFY tires in the rear (255s, 18s, and STICKY)...with my stock gears, untuned, the car is borderline about to spin the tires. I would say another 10hp or so, and they will light up.

Note....on a stock car with my tire setup, even in the wet, they are IMPOSSIBLE to spin (assuming you aren't turning or dumping the clutch.)

Stock gearing is perfect, 4.56 is acceptable, 4.77 would be a nightmare IMHO.

prepping for install...

i'm reading that the piping runs from 2" off the turbo, to 2.5" for a while (hot and cold side of the IC) and then the final 90 is 2.75."

i understand this step up idea for air flow, but is that 2.75 really necessary? i have a 2.5" 90 laying about that would match perfectly, with an HKS flange already on it. does anyone think this will reallly affect much if i just stay 2.5 and use a step up silicone piece to the throttle body?

I think it would be fine to use.

Maybe next year, maybe

Go for it Tarcy! I say keep the 4.77's and see how it feels cause you know its just as much work to uninstall after the turbo install. Let me know what tapp says about labour and all that jazz.

I found mixed data on what type of spark plug to use. Come to find out, my NGK 7173 plugs are non resistor type. The S2000 uses resistor plugs. The NGK equivalent, 1 heat range colder plug, is a 2668 gapped to .030 - .033. If your getting weird electrical problems (like your laser detector going nuts at 7k ), look into what your running.

I have decided I do not like boost... It is just plain uncomfortable... I am constantly worrying about little noises, and if my engine is ok, and if its too hot or too cold etc etc...

Also, the car is way faster than I want it to be... scares me.

I have come to a fork. 1 of 2 decisions... take the kit off and sell all of it, OR, trade the car in and get a different s2000... I'm going to loose a sh*t load of money either way.

If anyone wants to buy the kit, click here: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...f=107&t=594942

I'd like any advice on this I can get... which option would be better...

ALSO, my heat gauge (the factory one) is broken... I can drive for any amount of time, and it never goes above 1 bar of heat. HOWEVER, it does still let me into VTEC... what could be wrong?

sorry to hear your unhappy about it. other then the stupid things I have done I have not had any issues with the kit at all. I think a big part is my buddy who installed the kit for me (free of charge) did a kick-ass job and knew what he was doing. MY car drives/idles just like it did when stock (when not in Boost).

Mine does too... perfect install. No issues except for the heat gauge...

I just don't like that extra power. I enjoyed the anticipation from 2k-6k and then the pants creaming power from 6-8...

I don't like the fact that the turbo can cut the life of my car in half. I don't like that my insurance company will rape me if they find out... and if they dont' and the car gets totaled, I loose all the mods...

I wanna go back to stock
