Has anybody else had problems with Haltech Platinum Pro?
Interesting you mention this Ben. For 2006, Honda switched to a Hall Effect crank sensor along with many other electronic upgrades. I wonder if the high voltage output from the inductive proxy sensor was causing issues?
Point taken, i apologise for keeping the forum in the dark while we have been waiting on info to come back. I'll endevour to communicate via this thread more often just to share the love. On the issue of crank sensor pulldown, its not something that simple if it were the problem would persist in higher RPM ranges. Thats what makes this so strange, its not cylinder pressure related because we have FI engines without the problem and NA engines reporting it (therefore is not likely to be a coil charge time/ignition energy problem). Its a very slight stumble that happens only once and then revs right through to redline (so its not likely a crank sensor voltage issue, because it does keep revving). It doesnt happen all the time (ie you could rev through to redline 20 times in a row without an issue on the 21st time at 7200RPM ish there is a slight hesitation, almost like you imagined it, but in a log there will be a small dip in RPM to pick it up so it happened, but no clue as to why - try to make it happen again and it wont so your scratching your head thinking maybe you just ran over a bump in the road (but your on a dyno not the road so that didnt happen)). At least that has been my experience, my guess is lightened flywheels make the problem "feel" worse because the engine is no longer carrying as much inertia and therefore if there is a miss the engine slows more quickly, FI engines probably "feel" worse as well for similar reasons, one cylinder misses a hit and you drop 100HP for an engine cycle rather than 50 (on a 400hp engine vs 200hp)...so it "feels" more significant.
Some other things to note, this doesnt appear to be an manufacturing defect or isolated to individual ECUs, rather it appears to related to individual vehicles. Jeff would probably agree with this, his recent AP2 engine conversion supports this theory, car was fine on the Haltech on the first motor, second motor not so. Other forum members we have contacted have reported similar things, we have swapped ECUs from problematic to non-problematic vehicles and the misfire stays with the vehicle not the ECU - Thats what makes this such a pain in the ass to find its something different in what Honda did or how a component has aged/worn thats causing the problem.
I can see on this thread lots of people making comment, what i'd love to hear from is people who actually have this issue. If you have a vehicle that consistently has this problem please contact me either by PM or email for your privacy. If your just lurking - please continue to lurk but dont fill my my inbox and distract everyone from finding real solutions.
Thanks again guys - and if you see a silver S2K on the I5 doing 8000RPM like a pork chop - Wave to me im testing !

Thanks for getting us an update. I dont personally have the problem yet since its not installed, but I bought the Haltech unit even after knowing about the issue when I did based on the fact that you guys were working to resolve the issue. Hopefully I dont have the problem myself, but I will know soon enough and will relay the results. My turbo kit will be here tomorrow and install and tuning will be done hopefully within the next week or so. Its all up to the tuner and his schedule.
Can anyone help me out with the MAP sensor calibration for a SOS 3 bar sensor? Adam from Haltech sent me a base map to help me get to the tuner, but its got the GM 3 bar MAP sensor calibration tables and he said I would need to change those and possibly injector dead time. I only need to be able to drive about 5 miles one way. Thanks if anyone can help me out with this
