Default Kpro Hondata (Mac) Solenoid setup troubleshooting

I've been trying to set this thing up but just running into headaches.

The odd thing is under boost control it seems like I can only control boost by disabling it. Example, I check enable boost control on B21 put in the fixed duty cycle I want to run, then I uncheck the box to disable it and that seems to control it somewhat. What could be the reason for this happening (there is no polarity on the solenoid)? what else could I check?

When the enable boost control on B21 check box is checked it over boosts all the time and it cannot hold any type of boost.

Below is a snapshot, this allows me to run 19-20psi with some boost creeping. I have a 1.1 bar spring in the wastegate.

thanks for any help

May be something in your wiring. Have you posted this up on Hondata's boards? Worth a shot if you don't get an answer here.

Thanks, yes I have double checked my wiring it all looks good and tested for continuity. I've posted on hondata site but no answers, I doubt it but it might just be that I have a faulty new MAC valve? Just curious does anyone have the Kpro boost control + Mac valve working properly?

I am running it and it works perfect. I doubt your mac solenoid is messed up, it would be pretty hard to do it. Where are you getting your power from?

okay, so what you need to do is setup the parameters properly. You need to do some testing first.

So check Enable Boost Control B21

Select Maximum boost at 100%/normally closed

you need to set solenoid activation at your spring pressure or just slightly before it

so you said you are on a 1.1bar spring, so set it at 1.1 bar = 15.95 psi, so try setting the activiation at 14 psi.

Now for testing set the fixed duty cycle to 0% and the minimum duty cycle to 0%

Drive the car and make sure you make only wastegate spring pressure.

Then adjust the Fixed Duty cycle 10% each time doing a WOT pull and write down the amount of boost you make in each gear.

You then have to populate the table in order to use it properly and it will tell you if the solenoid is working properly. As you increase percentage you should make more boost.

Just to make sure, you are using pin A6 on the S2000 ECU correct?

The power is good, because I had a GM boost solenoid in there before and it worked great. I'll check that again though.

Thanks JustinC should be stickied! that explains the boost solenoid setup better than Hondata ever did. Yes S2000 A6, I'll do some testing tonight

Cheers,
Joe

Problem fixed, I'll write it down incase someone else ever encounters this problem

The original MAC solenoid port settings that I got from the internets had Port 1&2 backwards. Port 1 is now going to the top of the tial wastegate, and Port 2 is going to Vacuum, Port 3 is atmosphere. Its holding boost now I just have to make my pressure vrs duty cycle table now.

Cheers
