My Novi 1000 is noisy as hell....sounds like the bearings are shot but I had the seals and bearings replaced before I had it installed. But it still puts out 313HP with no problem so I just live with it. I was told that the Novi 1000 makes all kinds of noises.

 

I just got off the phone with Paxton after they inspected my returned blower. They determined that it DID need a major rebuild, one of the main bearings was toast and it had started rapidly taking other parts with it. They said it would all be covered under warranty.

I asked if this was normal or if they could determine any cause, they said it was not normal and the best they could tell was the bearing just failed for some reason.

Hopefully my rebuilt unit will not suffer a similar fate. Can't wait to get back on the boost, this NA limping around crap is for the birds.

Interesting...so that makes atleast two 1220SL blowers with ~10-11K miles that needed major rebuilding.
