Long story short...

I installed the greddy turbo kit with ultimate emanage on my 2000 ap1 about a week ago haven't tuned yet but will soon, heard some slight light knocking under my valve cover while i was at idle, thought it could be the tct, valve adjustment, or worst comes to worst engine/rod knock but after taking the valve cover off i found out that the cam braces that were holding down my cams have been loose ever since i bought the car and it got to the point where the cams made a groove on two out of the five braces that were holding down the cams. My mechanic took a look made sure my valves were good and in place and said it is best to replace the cams and the braces...my question is should i stick with OEM cams or upgrade to aftermarket say BC cams? or other aftermarket cams for the s2000?

Heard that not many people do cam work on the s2 especially when boosted but now that im in the situation im wondering if it is a good idea to go with aftermarket cams or should i stick with OEM?
I've called PTuning and they suggested that I stick with OEM...but when i saw prices for OEM...i kinda wanted to rethink my choice since im going to drop that kind of money, are there a set of cams that would work well with the Greddy Turbo Kit?

Those that are knowledgeable in this area or have gone down this path please give me a pointers please!!

Thank You!!

Putting on my pfab replacement manifold I noticed that it's damn near impossible to fit all of the oem header nuts back on. The manifold piping is blocking the bottom two threads. I believe the manifold is being held on with 5 out of the 7 nuts. Is there a special way to put the other two on?

Call Greddy or go to a Greddy dealer.

The greddy kit performes best on a stock motor. Now if. You had a diffrent kit you can consider a change. But greedy kit is best with oem motor

You have to start all of the nuts by a few threads before tightening any of them. that way you can wobble the manifold around to make room for the lower nuts to get on. Kinda a PITA, but it works.

=yeah what he said, put those 2 in first while it is loose to get more room then bolt on the rest

so i got tuned yesterday my monster numbers were...... 230hp 177tq @ 7.5PSI on AEM EMS. only thing i changed from the previous setup was the PFAB replacement manifold. Previous setup also made 271hp (i forgot the TQ). i dont know what could be wrong that i LOST 40hp, so i guess im gonna do a compression check and change out a few things to try to get better numbers.

Yikes... there's definitely something wrong. What did your graph look like? When did you make peak power? Was your car running funky before you changed out the manifold? You'd obviously be able to feel a 40whp loss in power right away. If all you did was swap out the manifold, check for leaks and definitely do a compression test to make sure something isn't up.

Changed out the greddy manifold cause it was cracked. Gonna do a compression check sometime this week. It's pretty sad that two NA AP2s made more power than I did.
