Maybe i wasn't just losing power in low range.
The car might be slower than normal in general ...
I'll try tightening the belt and see what happens.
By the way, I've checked with my spark plug gapper that they were exactly 0.034"

Check with the belt first. Does our SC belt make noise if it slips????
I am thinking that the wiring of the black box may be the issue here though. Make sure you climb back under the dash to check that the wires are still connected. The proper way to install the timing box is to sodder the wires together, although this can be a pain in the butt to do. Your time doing the wires correct now may save you the headaches in the future.
I had a simlar problems when I installed my VT SC. The car was lazy, then bang it would pull hard. Power came on very rough, not smooth like stock. It ended up being a splice that came apart and created an open circuit.

I think Sideways (and myself) point is that it's easy to check the belt. So why not start there.
