What im saying is, if your going to waste your time and energy trying to change people, go after those who are really hurting the environment and wasting our natural resources not a group of people who pride themselves in owning a car that sounds better than almost any other car ever produced especially with the cat off
ps
The more mpg you get, the less gas your burning, hence less pollution.
Why do car manufacturers install cats? same reason they put mufflers on, thick and restrictive air boxes, low cam profilings... must i go on? O and for mandatory emissions =P

People pollute because nobody gives a crap. Have you done anything about pollution to make companies think that being greener will sell more products? If you genuinely care and show that you care (even about the small things...like cars, plastic bags, etc), companies might follow suit.
My points are that you need air to live. Your points are that it makes a few more hp after you put on a test pipe?
People take pride in the S2000 being the nicest sounding car ever without a cat on? That's ridiculous.
Yes, obviously, the more MPG you get, the less fuel you burn. But even with less fuel burned, the car will put out more pollution than if it had a cat and got 1mpg less.

ok have no problem with that. i've already coped with the fact that we have different opinions/POVs. i think you're still stuck in arguing mode so... yeah
i had a highly tuned jdm h22 civic with a set of custom built headers with a 3 to 2.5 inch velocity stack where the cat would be into a custom 2.5 inch exhaust. there wasnt even a spot to put a cat on my car and the smell was no different. i think part of the smell comes from the thickness of the exhaust pipe and what not. my exhaust was completely one piece from headers back. it was really expensive but i couldnt smell anything.
IBTL, if so.
I was thinking about going catless just to see what the hype is about.
Had the danged thing for almost 6 months and havn't installed it.
Get business and get down to the dirty, go to the sources and do something about companies producing and selling test pipes. While your at it, do something about those old semi's that shoot black smoke from their exhausts. Do something about gigantic vehicles with a gigantic engine that burn large amounts of fuel to move its ungodly weight ( boats, planes, construction equiptment, farm equiptment, ect.)
Even then, I seriously doubt business will hault because green is in.
Production will continue and we will always deal with these problems. It's just more and more people getting freaked out that live in populated areas with nothing better to do eh?
I work 20 miles away one way, I'm not walking that shit. I bought a bike for that.
If anyone really wants something done, invest in magnetic railways an such. Pollutions is minimal if any.
TP's are illegal (obvious statments) and probably worse then you think, compared to many other things that pollute, how bad is this TP really?
There are many vehicles out there with crazy amounts of horsepower, which is cool because were pissed about test pipes instead.
An engine is running, that can be avoided. Just as much as a TP being installed.
Where exactly is this all really going to go?
Easy, no where. Just argumentative conversations with facts, charts, graphs and big words.
Its nice to see everyones views though.

I am stock and plan to stay that way because I want to run stock class in autoX in the future. If I were to change the cat, it would be a high flow cat because I don't want to smell. I also do not like pollution, but that is by far not the main reason.
