Not sure what changed from one pan to the next or even one pump to the next but I didn't think we made that part that tight, so I can't say I was anticipating that issue. With that said, Bob and I fight the customers battles pretty well here to make sure we deliver, and had this been an issue for someone that didn't have the ability to fix it we would have made sure to rectify this issue for them. As much as it sucks, these things happen as growing pains for a new product, and even just mistakes on established products but as i've said we work really hard to make sure everything gets rectified.
Anymore info on the pan not clearing the pickup/pump?

Mine still seems to work fine. No leaks.

I weighed my stock pan (with baffle) and the canton pan

Stock with baffle 8.8#
Canton 12#

The pan heights are nearly identical.

My pan was hitting the oil pump in two places. Luckily I have an engine on a stand that I was able to invert along with a lot of special tools. If I had to deal with the fitment issue on my back under my car I never wouldn't finished the installation.

The bolt holes lined up just fine. If you enlarged your bolt holes I suspect its because the pan is hitting the oil pump. As Canton noted, if anyone is having issues with the bolt holes lining up, then we should all have issues.

I put a straight edge on my pan and it's not flat. It's not terrible, I think it will seal. It will be a while before I test.

What size/pitch adapter do I need for the SOS oil return to the port on the pan (which I believe is a 1/2" npt)? I could've easily measured myself, but after messing around with the pan for hours to get it to fit I needed a break.

^I take it that the pan was hitting the tray bolted into the pan?

It was making contact with the oil pump in two places, the bolt in "slosh plate" was one of the two.

Correct - 1/2" NPT for both fittings.

This. Mine leaked. They're going to use an extra bead of silicone on the outside, but still might leak. I expect these teething pains and wouldn't have installed it before a real race. I have time to test it out, so fine.

FWIW, I just put a straight edge on the Canton pan I have and it looks decent. <1/16" gap at its largest, not even. from one end to the other. I'll just apply RTV a little liberally and that should solve the problem.
