But the good news is, there is a solution in the pipes, and its getting the ish kicked outta it before it hits the market.I like where we're at with it now and I'm almost positive that with more tweaks he could even eliminate the catch cans altogether.
Interesting

consumed 200/300ml of oil
collected 100ml of oil in the catch can. *perhaps from when i the road i was driving on suddenly became north caralina and i was freed from the insane dictatorship of virginia

I had issues at blackhawk farms a month before road america. I overfilled my catchcan after 2 laps. I had an unmodified valve cover and a low capacity catch can at the time. I should also mention BHF Ive always had issues with oil escaping. I have yet to go back to BHF after the VC mod, but if I did I would not be scared to do so.

Bringing this back from its dormant state because I need to tackle this in the spring. Did you just drill holes in the baffle or did you completely remove the baffle first? It doesn't look like the baffle can be easily reinstalled if it's installed w/ rivets.

N/m, looks like you drilled out the rivets and replaced them w/ bolts. Can you share w/ us what size the bolts are? Would be a big help not having to have the car sit waiting on bolts w/ the VC off. Thanks

those bolts are IN there, lock threaded and everything, they're also oem.

I still puff occasionally, and i still burn oil. So i guess i still drive an s2000.
Its been significantly reduced, but it still happens. I occasionally fill up my catch can, but never on the track. I've done 750 track miles with it installed and i've collected maybe 200/300ml total. But it will fill up, and whenever it does, its strange. I have no explanation for it. It happens sporadically, and for no reason. Its filled up twice. (over 400ml). Maybe overfill on oil? I have no idea.

If you have a spare vc, pm me. maybe i can help you.

So the baffle is held on by bolts not rivets? It looks like maybe there are a handful of bolts in a row that are in fact bolts, but the others don't have hex heads on them, so I assumed they were rivets.. I'll send Rainh8r a message and see what he says since he's the one that posted the pictures I linked to.

So much time and money wasted for such a cheap and simple solution. Said it before, and I'll say it again... Ditch the PCV. Just started tearing down my motor for a winter refresh. The inside of my intake manifold cylinder ports are spotless. Night and day difference from the last time the motor was torn down when I used to run the PCV.

It's an emissions control device, and there's no reason why anyone who seriously tracks their car should be running one.

I completely agree which is why mine is removed as well. Anyone who has looked at an intake manifold or head that has the crankcase recirculated back to the intake path knows it generally makes a mess. If not short term, over the longer term certainly.

The problem though is not filling up catch cans. If you have a good solution for that I'm all ears. I'm running the two crankcase vents on the VC to a catch can vented to atmosphere and the damn thing fills up too quickly. I'm planning on removing the baffle like rainh8r did, drilling holes in it, and reinstalling it. It's a big pita it seems, but it makes sense that some oil is getting stuck on top of the baffle and getting blown out the pcv port.. Hopefully with some drains it'll do the trick.

Edit: To add, I filled up my Moroso catch can in one day. At the end of the day when swapping brakes I noticed oil streaks on the underside of my car and it overflowed.
