Robert's rear control arm was affected by a track incident weeks before I think so i don't think it's an expected thing to break during normal autox.

FYI: Those are pretty much all the spares I bring so I think you'll be good. If you go to a big event (i.e. Nats), then Robert probably has enough parts in his trailer to rebuild an entire S2000 in case something really odd broke.

I've broken several control arms. I would bring spares.

We can't use you as a benchmark Mike. If that were the case, we'd be bringing spare motors too

S2000 control arms don't break. His broke because it had an off track excursion while road racing. Fwiw he also had offset ball joint which may have affected it. We also have a spare transmission with us for nationals in addition to axles and diff

Oh and Mike don't get us started on that Datsun that spends more time broken than running. Last I heard you were bringing a spare car. Or wait maybe that was baller Steve lol!

LOL. I stopped buying spares and just bought a second S2000. Seemed easier but not as easy to bring to events :-P

The moral of the story here is you should really consider towing if you drive a BSP car. The last guy who thought he could buck the trend was some guy named Steve Seguis, he made it about 4 events before he saw the light.

What happened at the Pro's that made you decide to tow? When I drove Marc's BSP car at last years Spring Pro/Nats, which is the car that I am buying, we street launched it and it still put down some decent 60' times. So, if I do play at a pro, I'll just street launch.

Spare tranny, eh? Ack!! That's a part that I didn't anticipate, but I have seen a tranny go out at Peru, IN, but I just chalked it up as him having lots of trouble with his trannys. I even sold him a diff at that event as they thought it could not that new transmission. I think that will be pushing it on space with just the S2K and a tire trailer. I do like to have common spares at home as an insurance policy.

With my AP1 in stock class, I used Hoosiers with little issues and rarely felt uncomfortable driving to the event, however it was on 245's and stock AP1 horsepower. But, I would be very disappointed that the little added BSP power would be that much more stress... I do realize that going from pinched 245's to 295/315's is a big difference.

Oh yeah... I just remembered that I wouldn't be using the Gendron bars/bearing mounts, so I would need to bring extra sway bar brackets too, as I've broken more of those than I have anything else... ummm... besides that rash of axles taking a dump because the car was lowered too much.

IMO, this is a good topic, even for those that tow their cars.
