You guys won't get any issues from me for just the tonneau missing. That said, I'd make sure the brace and tonneau are on for the big show just to be safe.

Good to hear Mike. Also of note there was some verbage in there about splitters, not sure if that affects anyone. Hope to have a good time. Cant wait. NJ was awesome albeit the cold weather. See you guys soon
Also have been talking to Marc P. and he said Doug Gill had clarified saying it was a trim piece and would not be required. Letters going in now!

Me too me too.
Does removing the softtop alone make us a "prepared"car???

Removing the soft top and adding a CR tonneau cover and bracing puts you in street prepared. The problem is that if it rains, you'll need to run an OEM hard top...though am I stretching the rules a bit if I call for putting on my Mugen top when it rains as "comfort and convenience"?

We went with a replica OEM top for cost and availability reasons. Unless it is a torrential downpour, In which it would be a moot point anyways we have no plans of running a top at an event. Steve if we are at a national event and it rains we would have no issues on you running the mugen top. We just ran a local were it rained and guess what the top was in the back of the truck will it will be on Saturday and Sunday for Toledo. See you guys there. Marc has sent me his letter and I will be sending one in shortly. The fact that we have to buy a 1500 rear cover in order to be legal which has no performance advantage or detriment other than a trim piece as its officially called by Honda is ridiculous. Its bad enough that we practically have to carry a spare drive train in order to make sure we can make it through a weekend. Our car still has $500 coilovers on it and if we have to buy a ton eau that's money we would have spent on proper coilovers first not to mention gas money to get to some of the 27 national events this year

Ook..
Right now I run so what my region calls "tuner" which means anything goes as long as its street legal. Problem with that class is, once you win the class, you can't run it anymore.
Right now I am running around with a tore top under my mugen top because I don't know if its worth removing to get thrown in a super hard class

I gave up writing letters. I'll just have to drive harder with my "fatty" BeeSP car. I will say it was nice though at the DC pro to be able to just bring up the soft top when it started raining while we were in grid. Ironically I'm not too worried about weight. I've gone to several events where my fast time was with a passenger so clearly I still have tons of room to improve without worrying about weight.

Even in SSM you would have retain the tonneau and CR bracing I believe...I haven't really read into it too much though. The Z is not a good fit in SSM, so I avoid reading that rule set lol.
