I'm pretty exited about this build. I hope it goes well for you. Take many photos and keep records! Even though this is an s2k forum, I would like to hear of the other builds.

Jason's car is the only one I know that has been photographed with the 18x11s. His set has 8.5" backspacing...

Why hasn't he removed his soft top yet?

That pic is probably 4+ years old, the soft top is removed.

The biggest problem for the s2k's in SP is the same as STR, diffs. Pretty sure Jason had at least one spare with him at Nats.
I'm out of date, are you referring to the issues with the OSG diff's? If so, did their revised version not end up fixing it?
i believe the strength of the oem ap1 in particular casing is in question. Bearing caps and low strength eventually will end your ring and pinions life... The OSG issue was resolved

Thanks for the reply, I haven't heard of oem diff failures in STR, are AP1's breaking diff's?

Is a launch on just an AP1 STR car that hard on the diff? What constitutes a properly built diff, or how can it legally be made stronger?

With the rain we're having here in NY, just reminded me to factor in a wet weather setup. I'm thinking narrower wheels for the wets and maybe save money buy running 275/40/17 Hoosier H2O on my 17x9 6ULR (STR) wheels?

I'd rather have a 245 wet on a 9" wheel...

Even better. That'd cost less

Sourced and ap2 engine and trans. Hopefully I'm finally going to get some traction on my build.
