Yeah CCWs are $700 a wheel new so $2800 for the set is what you're looking at assuming you only buy 1 set of wheels.

I finally caved in and bought a set. They are right on par at 2700 for the set. I am more pleased with them as time passes. I got the 1 piece SP16r wheels over the 3 piece wheels due to strength and weight. At approx 20.lbs and 20.2 lbs, these are decent...

The fronts are 18x10.5 with 7.5" backspacing and a 2" lip. The rears are 18x11 with 8.25" backspacing and a 3" lip. The front fenders will need some flaring for proper fitment and the rears will need to be rolled flush.

Robert, you copycat! I bought mine first!

At least you still have the CR, I got rid of my white car in favor of a black one just to be more like you!

I had to, the 17s would have been too close on the brake kit. The 18" tire selection is much more appealing to me as well as overall diameter.

It should be said that this was not a fair compound vs compound test.

The widest tire that Hoosier makes that works for a stock Mini is the 225/40/17. BFG has wider and shorter sizes in the R1-S that will work on a stock Mini. Craig W. has written on other forums that this test was using the 225 hoosier and then using the 245 BFG. He has said that the BFG was faster for him but it has to be known here that the BFG's that he was running were wider than the Hoosier. If Hoosier made a wider tire that worked for the Mini, who knows. Also he had tire rub with the 245's and has said the 235 BFG may be a better option.

I have been looking into the BFG and one thing that I have noticed is that they are wider than the Hoosiers in any given size, at least the ones I have seen. (like a 225 BFG is wider than a 225 Hoosier) The two grooves on the BFG also "look" like they are better positioned and they have lots more wear bars. Another thing I keep hearing and reading is that the BFG's stay faster longer and have more life in them than the Hoosier.

I'm not planning on BSP, but I thought I would add this about the tire talk.

I would have to agree. the 17" tire selection was not as good (however there are still many options that could work). I went with the 18" to achieve the control arm clearance i wanted. (if i could modify upper and lower control arms, there would be 15's on the car no questions asked.)
