With a more aggressive clutch better to slip it a little. With an OEM clutch, no way it would keep up.

Interesting. I'll try that at the practice on Friday and see how it is. I have an OEM clutch surface but an ACT HD pressure plate and 11 lb flywheel though.

this was on a clutch masters aluminum flywheel, heavy pressure plate, and organic rigid disk. All of which is going in the trash unless someone wants the pressure plate or flywheel lol. Switching to act heavy pressure plate, organic sprung disk, and streetlite flywheel.
Thank you Corsport USA for stepping up to the plate and forking over this act clutch system!
If anyone needs parts, be sure to include corsportusa.com in your search, free shipping, will price match, and local here in Colorado!

Which CM clutch/fly? I ended up with the FX300 and Ultra Light Fly. I hope this doesn't happen to me, but would rather replace now rather than later.

clutch material - fiber tough
flywheel - Ultra light

hopefully it was just a material mismatch from the flywheel to the clutch disk. clutch disk to pressure plate side looked brand new

The good news is that I didn't break anything this weekend at the NJ Prosolo but I have to admit, the threat of it was hard to shake off and messed with my driving a bit. Still getting used to all this grip. After watching the other guys haul ass through the course, I think I just need to trust the grip and push really hard.

Also, I don't think the added power helps offset the heavier wheels and lighter flywheel. My best 60ft times were only 2.0 and 2.1 and STR was doing that all weekend. I did however, get my first object done which is to not get raw timed by STR like I have been in previous events. Gotta love Hoosiers.

It was also good meeting Sacha and Greg! Sorry to see you guys struggle out there. I guess I'll be seeing you next at Nats.

Last two parts needed to complete my build are now on their way! Better late to the party than not at all! Should have the car on the ground and running in a week!

It certainly doesn't hurt! Unfortunately the SCCA's idea to scare everyone did speed up my plans for SSM. I plan to see how the year plays out with this car before making a decision for 2014.
