I've got a bar that replaces the stock hoops and bolts into the stock bar holes. It was custom made ( I picked it up used ) ( built at Lucas shop in Houston ) but it looks just like the Mugen bar photos.
Is your bar SCCA legal? That's one thing that I would like to achieve if possible.

It sounds like so few of us have gone this route here on the East coast (compared to the West coast anyways) that we just need to find shops that can do it like they did out there. I guess the first step is to contact Piper and Kirk and see what they say. Now I just gotta get off my lazy butt and do it!

The word on the street is that Bethania Garage in NC aka Hard Dog is fabbing a bar that should be released shortly.
Keep us informed.

Thanks for the info...yah, I'm not concerned about club racing, I know that requires a cage. I'll go with a dedicated car for that if I ever get there. The goals of my bar will be:
1) To qualify for HPDE's at VIR and other tracks (or clubs) that require a rollbar.
2) To qualify for time trial or hillclimb type events. In other words, non W2W events.

The idea I had is that I would ask for the cage to be built to the specs listed in section 18 of the SCCA Time Trial rules (http://www.scca.com/_FileLibrary/Fil...rialsRules.pdf).

That's how it's done, yes. You check the regs of any group you might want to be driving in and make sure you meet the minimum set that covers them all. Mainly this has to do with tubing diameter and thickness, but you also have to consider angles, bends, braces, and other factors.
