Rolling resistance

Yes, total diameter. Car wheel diameter is more a function of brake size. The difference is probably smaller than all the other rr factors (inflation/construction etc.)

I was just curious I think with 4.77's a land speed run is out of the question haha. I realize we're talking total diameter as well, referred to wheel size since I was too lazy to look up tire diameter. It seems most of RR is out of our hands, it was just a post out of curiosity mostly since I hadn't seen any mention ever before, I guess only F1 worries about these things

So is it safe to say a larger rim mostly benefits braking?

yeah there are much larger lap time gains to be had in just about every other area.
