R1R's won't last more than 60 runs.

60 runs on asphalt = ?? on concrete.

106 runs on the kooks, with Jay drifting half of those runs, and they are still more than half tread by my estimates, with some exception of some edge wear on the front. Will rotate front to back, and run them for a while, and then flip inside to outside.

You're also on a turn that slopes away from where you need to go... On a hill. SO yes, it's gonna wash out on almost everyone there I would think.

I remember Qualcomm as being loose also from the couple times I've run there.

Dont measure runs by tread life. Count runs until performance starts falling off. Even with starting with 4/32nd shaved tires, I can notice a fall off in performance before i hit 1/32 on some tires.

So your saying shaved r1rs are only good for 60 runs or full tread? Because shaved is shaving off almost half the tread. (from 7/32 to 4/32)

Full tread. On most tires shaving them will get you more life. Not 255 R1R's.

So with that being said I need to go with star specs or r-s3s. I'm worried that the r-s3s wouldn't get hot enough to get grippy since I don't have a co-driver.

Locally, this shouldn't be a problem. You'll typically get ~5 runs, so plenty of runs to get them to temp. In fact, in the summer time, you'll be watering them down to keep the tires from over heating. So, either will be good choices.

Everyone I know with an S2000 or Miata has run the R-S3s at full tread without a problem. The only person I know that has shaved them is an STX BMW driver.

If you look at top ranks of STX and STU at the Tours you'll see that Hankook and Dunlop show up more.

Full tread R-S3s will be my next set. My first set is shaved Dunlops.

I have dunlops now and I am pretty happy with them. That said I am pretty sure I am going to try RS3's next especially since I will be moving to florida where it is significantly warmer
