I am no expert here, but I was thinking we were hosed on not using the 2006+ ECU and flash it due to the drive by wire.

If there is a way to do the flash, I would love to be able to get those kind of gains in my old AP1.

What are you guys doing for intakes? AEM, Comptech, K&N FIPK, K&N drop in stock box? I know there was some talk about not removing or modifying the plastic cooling plate many many pages ago, but i don't remember where that went.
Comptech here, and I saw a few K&N and one PWJDM at nationals.

K&N FIPK

aem v2 makes more power but it's "illegal" Ask me how I know

basicly its illegal because it requires you to cut a 2in section of your fender well out and thats modifying the car. which isn't allowed. The plasic that you cut off weights less then 2 ounces. You can take a shit before a race and loss more weight then 2 ounces. But I won't get in that topic and rant some more. Rules are rules and to play we have to suck it up and go by the rule book.

If it was up to me and it was legal aem v2 all day long. But when we have to stay with in rules buy a k&n FIPK and spend some money on a header/HFC or somthing.

You still don't get the reason why this isn't allowed, which isn't to make josh7owens buy a new intake, but rather to prevent people willing to take rules to their logical extreme from running custom ram-air intake systems outside of the confines of their bodywork.

Hankook's website is now showing a 245/40R17 tire. The REALLY interesting thing is that on a 8.5 inch wide wheel, the treadwidth measured WIDER than the 255 did on a 9 inch wide wheel. Good news for AP1 owners!

LOL At one point, I was hoping this too. Seeing the TQ gains with the flash makes me envious.

Maybe we will see a rule change next year for us AP1's and early AP2's that would help in leveling the field with the 06+ DBW S2000.
