now wondering if my OEM trunk lip is going to have to come off for the national tours
why couldn't they have writen the rule to state factory optioned wings/lips. I can understand those huge wings like the SP cars have, but I see no advantage at auto-x speeds that the factory optioned areo provides.
I planned on going to Packwood this year... But I dont want to have to remove my factory optioned/dealer installed front lip from my car.

Well, if the OEM stuff was available as an option from the dealer then it's fine per stock class rules. So if you could have potentially gotten that trunk lip from the dealer on your particular year car, then you're fine.

Technically yes. In practice, people have run at Nationals in Stock class with the Honda dealer-installed spoilers without being protested. I'd worry about it if you plan on being on the podium at Nationals (Nationals proper, not even a tour or pro), but otherwise, not so much.
It doesn't specify in the rulebook as far as I can find, but I thought the way it was worded it sounded like if it was a factory option then it would be fine.

If it's put on at the factory or could have been it is fine. If it's done at the port or dealer it's not unless it has an exception in the rule book for that mod. Some of the very common port installed options are OK.

I'll be in Packwood with a truck spoiler and OEM front lip. If we get protested over that Im gonna be pretty pissed. I doubt I'll trophy anyway
j/kI do agree though that getting protested for a factory lip or spoiler would be complete crap even if you trophy'd. I would personally be embarrassed that you beat me while carrying around that extra weight. The person that protests that should be laughed at for being a poor looser.
Anything that came on the car from the factory is still legal, just as it is in Stock class. Dealer-installed lips/spoilers won't be though.
I was tossing the idea around of experimenting with aero next year, I guess not now. Oh well, more money in my pocket!

The rule is that only parts installed at the factory are considered "standard". A later ruling stated that the port facility is considered an extension of the factory (many manufacturers install A/C and other locally preferred options at the port, for example). Accessories that are only installed by the dealer are not considered to be stock parts.
On the other hand, as Steve said people have run the Honda dealer-installed spoilers and mini-wings for many years in AS and BS without any protests over them. It comes down to how civil (vs greedy) the folks in your class are, and how much you annoy them...
