Obviously this tire comparison will be very course dependent. I.e I won't be raw timing asp by just throwing some a6's on my STR car...

Latest info on the OS Giken diff situation:

1) My diff appears to be the only one of the three that wasn't destroyed completely, which allowed a bit more investigative work. It looks like the side gears were the source of the failure, which took out the spider gears. The axle spacers are NOT a solution to this.

2) OS Giken *does* have a new design in the works, which is specifically addressing stronger side gears (and this was in the works before my failure, apparently)

3) The new design is expected to be complete in September

4) OSG FTW!

Is anyone wrapped their header and/or exhaust to keep engine bay heat down? Also, what about wrapping the intake hosing? At a recent event I saw a Miata with the whole intake area barriered off w/what appeared to be styrofoam and every part up to the throttle body wrapped in foil insulation.

I wrapped my intake tube in foil, but I seriously doubt it'll do much seeing as the throttle body is heated by coolant

Well, I have to say that it looks as if OS Giken is going to take care of me - I know that others haven't had that kind of customer service, but I'm optimistic!

I've done both and don't think either one really helps. Hind sight is 20/20. Insulation just delays the inevitable...
