S2000 STR prep resource
I think its something with the TPS - I remember reading something about a calibration step - but I never went through with it. I'll figure it out this weekend.
What I'm looking for is a little less entry push and a little more longitudinal grip, its very easy to steer with the throttle in sweepers, but in slow corners like those above - its a touch pushy - which is to be expected though - I mean they are street tires...
I have two T&T events in August so I should be able to figure it out. I have software to overlay the data with the video but I'm having issues with the HiDef H264 codec and the overlay software.

my 03 picked up about 10% torque and HP with a VAFC and a testpipe
most of that was the VAFC
Picked up around 5-7% throughout 10% in VTEC, lowerring VTEC didn't help
AFR's were in 10's stock tweaked to 12.s

Not quite - the ST/STS rule was changed last year. High-Po replacements are legal now in ST/STS provided they meet the requirements of 14.10.E:
'Catalytic converters may be replaced by aftermarket units. Replacements
must:
1) Be certified for use in that vehicle application by the manufacturer
or reconditioner,
2) Bear correct EPA-mandated labeling,
3) Be of the OE quantity and type (i.e. oxidation, three-way, etc.)
and
4) Be used in the same location(s) as the OE converter(s).
This does allow for high performance replacements, provided
they meet all restrictions herein."

and along with thenick on the emanage. yeah, no injector harness too. it becomes a glorified VAFC because you cant use the other functions legally in STR.
hmm, ok so does the BERK Hi flo cat seem to be the best choice or is it violating one of those rules?
I agree on compiling a list of must have parts, set up like the AS faq we already have. Might bring a lot more people into the class if they see what is really necessary and what is nice to have for those last tenths of a second.....of course it will have to be developed as the class develops, but a nice running faq would be great! Anyone up to it? I think I lack the technical knowledge or resume to compile this....

If you want to give it a shot, go right ahead.... but I can say this with some certainty, there's going to be more than one way to set up the car.
Consider all the possible street tires that can be used, which essentially *require* different setups between them all. From camber, to spring rates to alignment, and not to mention... it may not even be about fitting the widest tires on a wheel, but wheel diameter could come into play (16s? 17s? 18s?).
Not to mention, certain tires will play into ones driving capability more than just V710s or Hoosiers... where it's essentially a level playing field... some may be faster on one tire than another simply because it suits their driving style.
Add onto that... an AP1 may work better on one setup that sucks on an AP2.... due to the things that were 'fixed' in the AP2.

Quick question about a spoiler/wing.... since I used to have a wagon when I last participated in ST* so I never paid much heed to the rule, and not being very familiar with the history of the S2000... is the spoiler on the back of the car an option, or was that factory equipment?
Because the rules state that one can only modify a spoiler for a spoiler and a wing for a wing.
Ideas for better downforce in the rear?

Whoever starts it could keep the first post updated with common themes - maybe we'll find out that most people settle on 800lb/650lb springs or that a certain tire turns out to be the hot one.
BTW... I'm not volunteering. I think JustinsanE did already
