I'll be on Toyos. The RE-11s have one major problem. Their break away is too quick and on a car like the S2000, I want a nice mellow slip angle. I think the Toyo has a better grip in the braking and accelerating portions of the grip circle than the competition. I think that will help get out of corners and help brake late for them.

They have also done well for me in the past and Toyo supports our sport.

Haha, I'm gonna be slow anyways. I could be on slicks and 99% of you all would still kick my ass. What toyo's are you refering to?

Hey, don't forget I had the choice not to run them. I must think these tires will work or I wouldn't be on them. Seriously, I like to win.

You are posting in a thread where class rules allow up to a 9" wheel width and 255mm tire width with a minimum of a 140 tread wear rating... and certainly not a turbo.

Yeah -- my bad. josserman's post got inadvertently moved along with a bunch of STR-specific ones. I'll sort this out offline.

Are these the Toyos that have temperature restrictions for storage/transport? Something about freezing or very cold?

Says the contract Toyo driver Not that that's a bad thing. I'd love to be one too

Other good choices besides the Toyo R1R and the Bridgestone RE-11s are:

Yokohama AD08
Hankook RS3s
Dunlop Z1 SS
Kumho Ecsta XS

This new crop of tires are pretty close to each other, that I don't think you can make a bad choice among the bunch.

One advantage the Toyos have are the 245/35R17 tires for AP1s, as no one else makes this size.

I too appreciate companies out there that support SCCA Solo, and those companies are Toyo and Bridgestone. I do like the fact that Toyo supports both Solo and ProSolo vs. Bridgestone only supporting Solo.
