First off, hello forum!

I've had my focus st 225 for almost 2 years, nothing but trouble! Replaced the clutch and flywheel 2 months after purchase, the drive shafts, 4 wheel bearings, bonnet lock, oil filter housing, boost solenoid, I've got a vibration under acceleration that no garage can find the cause and now I've had enough!

I'm going to view 3 S2000's on the weekend, never driven a rear wheel drive car in 7 years of driving. Has anyone gone from a similar car to a S2000, do you think you made the right decision? I've had a ep3 type r and loved it.

Also, is there anything I should be looking out for before handing over my car and cash for a S2000?

Any help would be appreciated!

I went from two Dodge SRT4's (turbo 2.4 L engines making 310 whp) front wheel drives, to the S2000. I purposely wanted a slower car, as I was tired of street racers wanting to race all the time. I may have gotten into some serious trouble with those cars as much fun as I had with them and I really enjoyed owning them. I now have a true love of my S2000 though, and I appreciate it in many different ways, it is a slower car, the difference it torque is huuuuuuuge ! , lol. As long as you can accept the torque loss, the other traits of the S2000 will bring many smiles to your face. It should also be more reliable based on what you described. You could always boost the S2000 later down the road if you crave more power.

Thanks both, going to view a 56 plate moonrock grey/black and red leather with 65k miles tomorrow. If the car checks out I'll be driving away with it

Moonrock with red leather sounds awesome. Just take your time to get acquainted with RWD. It will not be as forgiving as FWD near the limits. If you have something similar to autocross in the UK, I would highly recommend it as a safe way to learn the car's capabilities.

Not familiar with 57, 56/07 or 56 plate. Must be a UK thing.

I'm definitely going to take my time to get used to the car. A 56 plate is a 2006 made in the second half of the year basically. In 2016 they'll use 16 plate and 66 plates but ye it's a UK thing
