No offense taken derryck, I was gonna mention the same thing: I have no affiliation with speedcraft nor anything to gain by "claiming" inflated numbers..

Why do you have to be so aggresive against claims of a baseline of 212, JRM? If anything, speedcraft would want to say I had LESS baseline hp to show their turbo did more for my car, yadda yadda yadda.

Granted I can understand his hesitance to go on someone else's word knowing the nature of boards on the net (I beat a maclaren f1 from 0 to about 180 mph the other day, then I did a 7.98s 1/4, stock), but I consider this place a little higher "caliber" than most boards.. people generally are more put together. I guess if you don't wanna believe him.. we can't make ya. But hopefully we'll have some dynos up in the 300s for you to take a peek at.

Derryck, you know how it's coming along? I hate calling and bugging them.

So is implying that Chris, Derryck, and Speedcraft are all liars.

My car dyno'd at 207 completely stock, and I'm sure it's pretty accurate as a friend's very modded ITR only made 201 (which is low in the ITR community for all bolt ons, complete jun head, spoon pistons etc.)... my sentra with a freshly rebuilt motor and cams made 140... I hope it makes you all sick when I come back with numbers from it that are more than a turbocharged s2000 <wink> And yes, I think it could easily run a Z06 from 70mph to about 130-140... above that aerodynamics and gearing would kill me.

JRM,

That's what I'm getting at. You are assuming Chris's car will only dyno at 200 without his throttle body and intake. What if his car dynos at 210 like Sev's? Then the throttle body and intake gains a whole 2rwhp.

Derryck has stated that Speedcraft dyno'ed Chris's car at 212rwhp with the throttle body and intake. You have told him more than once in this thread that 212 is impossible with just a throttle body and intake. Derryck tells you it is the truth. You tell him it's bullsh_t. If I tell you I weigh 170lbs but I look like I weigh less and you think I weigh 150lbs and I restate that I weigh 170lbs then you think I'm a liar. No way could someone so skinny weigh 170. It's bullsh_t. You'll probably say something like "oh, your scale must be miscalibrated."

Disbelieve him all you want. I won't believe the 212 either until I see a dyno sheet. It's unlikely, but it is possible. The fact is that stock S2000s have dyno'ed very well. They are far and few, but they certainly exist. For Chris to have such a car is completely possible. Derryck and Speedcraft have not made a BS claim. Other S2000s have proven it is possible to dyno quite high above what the norm is.

Motives? I think I felt like arguing today. And your argument looked like a good one to attack.

Didn't make it to the track last night due to the weather. I'll pick up a copy of ChrisD's dyno sheet this weekend and post it on Monday.

Temin,
Thanks for the support but there are no ill feelings between JRM (or anyone else here) and myself, just debating. It's always good to have the opportunity to see things from someone elses perspective. This board is full of members who contribute and that's what it's all about. If JRM were a little closer, I'd buy him a beer. Of course we'd go in my car because it's faster.

In truth I appreciate you and ChrisD using your S 2000s as a test bed for the installation and I hope it truely works well over the long term. Why, because it provides another performance alternative for everyone. I'm just slower on the uptake, as I like to see concrete info on such an undertaking.
Jeff,
Glad you said that. I haven't actually finished paying for my turbo set up so all donations would be welcome. Kidding... it took me about 8 months to finally make up my mind as to what I was going to do. I knew that I wanted to make the car faster but wasn't really sure about a custom turbo. I have a great deal of faith in my mechanic but when you see stuff like the turbo that AtomicPerformance was working on for such a long time, it makes you wonder. After much discussion and planning with my mechanic, I decided to go ahead and do it and I'm really glad that I did. The car is just amazing, the power is pretty much always available. This isn't my first modded import, this is the first in a long line of cars that all have run 12's or better. It's nice having that 'pin you to the seat' kind of power again. If any of you guys are ever in the area, feel free to look me up. I never get tired of having people ask for rides, maybe drives in some cases. As for the beer, in truth, I'm not much of a drinker anymore either. I'll drink sometimes at the Jaguar games but that's just because I'm a sore looser.

Sorry about seeming so hotheaded guys, but I was also butting heads with some dummies at the RX-7 forums who insisted that VTEC engages at 5000rpm in our cars.

[QUOTE]
S2K - Actually VTEC is 5000 RPM's or like 75km/hr. 6000 onward you hit the UmFFFF - and the Red Line should be around 8000. When you shift the car is still reeling high enough at the Red that ideally you never leave VTEC. That's why VTEC drivers Shift MAD FAST YO !
