Age Poll
I'm 20 something, went to college but dropped out since there's really nothing more they could teach me. I like flashy, loud cars that just scream, "Look at me". The louder it is the better. And once I have them looking my way, I'll dazzle them with my huge picnic table rear wing and 3000 db thumper sound system. I really have no personality but the slammed car makes me "All that".
Girls love me because they think I'm cool and have lots of money. I don't tell them I saved for 5 years working in the back of Dairy Queen. When a really nice, cheap S2000 came along, I was a little short but my dad loaned me the rest of the money cause I promised I'd go back and finish school. I told him I'm going to be a doctor one day. He wanted to buy me a Benz AMG but I said an S2000 will do.
I've already got my next mod planned. Carbon fiber everything baby! Means I'll have to flip a few more burgers but it's so worth it to look so cool. Mind you, I can't see past next Tuesday and there's this even taller wing with an "F1" sticker on the ends that ought to get me a few more girls. And really, anyone over the age of 35 has no business driving a car like this. You should be driving a Prius and saving my planet.
Oh, and yeah ............................... I AM all that!

I hate to say it but in another year or two this will be another honda-tech. And why wouldn't it since all the guys from honda-tech are now coming to this site. The trash talking and fighting have gotten worse since the value of these cars dropped. With motos like "The louder the prouder" becoming common talk, the inevitable downfall is all too apparent.- sorry just felt like ranting for a little. I always feared the civic crews would eventually move to the S2000, but I was hoping they could mature a little before doing so. That didn't happen.

I have thought about it- a k20 swapped lotus seems pretty bad ass but I just don't see myself getting rid of the S, and two little cars are not practical in any way

K20 swapped MR2 is pretty amazing as well! I totally would love to own one someday

No, that is not ranting. It is confirming my feelings, exactly. I have had the experience on this site of dealing with more than its share of high school dropouts, guys with room temperature IQ and large common sense deficiencies. How many of them spend their last dime on a $2000 accessory and a month later are trying to sell it for $1975 because they need the money to buy something else? But no one is going to pay the $1975. The S2000 is so exquisitely designed and manufactured, why does anyone need a sheet rock size rear spoiler? Or Stage 2 cams? Or to break the law and install test pipes, to jeopardize the health of others and their own children? Or lower the car so that in three months it needs a replacement oil pan or front bumper cover. Or put a hard top on a roadster? Why not just buy a something made with a hard top? (I am not referring to those owners who need a hard top for winter driving). How about the member who has a wrap around video showing children being shot. And the trash talking and bickering and...? Who needs it? Feedback is provided the monitors but nothing is done. Perhaps it is time to start our own S2K site--for ADULTS ONLY and proof of an IQ above 70 degrees F.

) I think this was written quickly in an angry state of mind and does not adequately represent your composure.
"Honestly"? That begs to wonder of you have a tendency of making "dishonest" comments? Me, "angry"? No, not at all--not even angry at your comments. You get to have an opinion. Me, too. My "composure"? You know that? How you know that? I must say though that I would have to question one's composure who states that he has been driven "up a wall" (your words). My feet are still on the ground!
Not sure I understand why you can't state an opinion without attacking another person? It is ok to do that--but I takes a little more thought and a facility for composing a logical, productive selection of words.
UNLESS, of course, my previous statement touched a little too close to home with you. Perhaps if the shoe fits...? Or the thermostat has been set too high...
You have done a good job of confirming that which I stated above.
Thank you for your input.

You sir, dont seem like you can accept criticism. Just my opinion anyways. Also seems you have yourself way up there on the high horse to no?
. I also wanna point out, you have quite a bit of mods listed in your signature for a perfectly designed car that didnt need to be modified. Also, this forum seems to attract a lot of the bickering and shit. I only ever read about it in this forum of s2ki, if you guys are sick of it try going to a different forum. This isnt opinion, its truth. Original poster is right, some of these threads are pretty damn stupid.
Careful there FluKy...that kind of talk will get you banned off Honda-Tech if you tell that to a moderator in a private message and in context with the conversation even if you've been a member over there since before he was a moderator.
Let's be honest here, the 18-30 age group who are into cars is full of douchebags. You either get frat boys, meat heads, criminal-wannabes, or something in between. Just a bunch of clones of each other, most of them dumb as rocks. They usually want to drag race all the time, because they think it actually means something. I'm only talking about people I've run into, I don't know anyone here well enough to make that conclusion. But when it comes to cars, I prefer the 50+ age group. These guys are usually cool as hell, have a ton of experience, and have some great stories.
Anyway, people here have been really helpful and cool so far and I hope it stays that way. I've only got two friends that are into cars, and it's nice having another place to go for information.

Right on! It's now starting with AP1's, as they are the most affordable for them. As a bonus, they will continue burning oil and show that black rear bumper, just to remind them the good old civic/integra days
I agree with some of the statements here. Maturity has nothing to do with age really, I am about to turn 20 and have had my S since I was 17. Yes I have done stupid things in it/to it back then and I admit I was stupid, but everyone learns from their mistakes. The younger people just tend to make those mistakes more because they don't think about it and realize what they have done. I read stories about stupid mods people have done, or about how they wrecked their S for being irresponsible with it and most of the time the are over the age of 20. I actually MAYBE hit vtec 1 time a week and I daily drive my S with no accidents or anything. I also make all of my car payments with my own money I make at my full time job here at a credit union. I feel like this forum has helped me out a ton, and I know I have helped countless members on here. I get a couple PM's a day of guys asking me about how to do things, or what advice I could give them about their problems and seem to always be happy with the answers I give them. I too feel like I am very mature for a 19 year old kid, and there will always be ones that are, and some that aren't so arguing about it is worthless. There will be immature people in all age groups, it's not always the youngest crowd here. This is a great forum and all you have to do is ignore the people that start stupid threads and such, we drive a car that you can get for $10k now and there isn't anyone can do about immature people getting them. Like I read somewhere above, let them do what they want, it just makes your S that much better.
It's a car, and JUST that. You can't bash younger people (such as myself) who wanted to "move up" from their civic's and integras. Some of you older guys "move" up to NSX's, Vette's and other higher end cars. It's just a cycle.. I doubt you older guys would like it if OG NSX owners dug you a grave as soon as you bought your new NSX. All I can say is that the stereotype thing needs to go. I haven't run into any "douche-worthy" s2000 owners. They have all been mature, polite and seem to have good taste in mods. Ah well, just my two cents! I'll be an s2ki member until I'm OG myself.
