Age Poll
I'm 41, and I don't much care what the age or circumstance is of anyone else who is the owner of an S...all I can say is "enjoy it".
I like going to group events and meeting other owners. Most are probably younger than me, and many have made modifications that I would not. Thats not the point though. The point is that with the different types of owners, and the different mods they have done...it gives me a chance to see what others have done. Also by taking the time to talk to other owners in different demographics, I can find out more details about what may have been involved in a mod I do like.
With the cost to make any mods to the S being as high as they are, the more info other members have and are willing to pass on....the better.

I bought my "S" six years ago at the ripe young age of 51. I decided on Honda for many reasons. The most important to me; it's a classic roadster design, with good looks and great performance right out of the box, and the biggest bang for the buck under 48-50K. There has always been a roadster in our family starting with MGA x2, MGB, Jaguar XKE, and BMW Z3. I wanted a classic (styled) roadster. That would include, of course, lots of road-noise, buttons, switches, etc. not always placed in the most convenient positions, and a tight cockpit. The fact it has power windows, actual door handles, and air conditioning, is well, something I'll just (gladly) have to live with. I love this little S2000 and it still brings a smile to my face every time I "fire-it-up." No, I don't need a hot car to impress the ladies. My hot wife and granddaughters seem to like me just the way I am. And for the record...I don't much care what the badge is on the front of your car, you'll have a hard time believing you just got your doors blown-off by, a Honda...really?
I was encouraged by the theme set by the OP stating his age, a bit of his car history, and a bit of why he got into his S. The thread sort of went downhill a bit and got into some rants and other crazy stuff. It may be just because I probably qualify as a geezer, but I bought my own roadster in high school (no, the folks didn't fund it - I just worked). It was an MG-TD (yep, wooden frame and all), then had Corvettes through college and well into married life.
We had a bad tour through a POS Volkswagen New Beetle for one of my daughters (oldest still has her Acura Integra, youngest had a '98 Civic which was a really great/cheap car) and when we went to replace it, she found a 2001 S2k (Spa yellow) with 83k miles. When she went on Spring Break, I had the car for a week and within about three weeks I bought another one for me (2007, 6k miles, Rio Yellow Pearl).
It's more fun than my Corvettes ever were.
[That's what I had hoped this thread was going to be about.]

I'm 53 years old and a woman. My first S2000 was a new 2001 Silverstone. Then I bought a new 2005 Suzuka S2000. I've driven my '05 Suzuka across the county three times; from So Cal to Ohio, to Virginia and to Pennsylvania, for Vintage Owner S2000 meets. In case you don't know what a Vintage Owner is, it's the over 40-years old forum here on S2ki. It's listed under Special Interest Forums. S2000 Vintage Owners Forum. I almost bought a 2009 Laguna Blue S2000 but splurged for a 2005 (last model year) NSX in Long Beach Blue Pearl, instead. The S and NSX are great cars.
