These guys are usually cool as hell, have a ton of experience, and have some great stories.

Anyway, people here have been really helpful and cool so far and I hope it stays that way. I've only got two friends that are into cars, and it's nice having another place to go for information.
Hey! I resemble that remark. How dare you compare me to a bag of rocks? I'll have you know the 6 years I spent in hi school has made be as smart as a bag of hammers - Rona brand name hammers at that. Geezers like you should be banned from this site. Us edgumucated hammers need a place to hang and talk about our street races and compare our egos. In fact there should be a "Peter Meter" right on the home page so we can put up or shut up. This place would be just perfect if people like you just left.
BTW, anyone know where I can find a really deep dish 12" wide rim?

Another one of the "I can't tell if you're serious or not faces."

thats definitely serious, and its a terrible generalization. glad to see he made this statement and proceeds to say, "I don't know anyone here well enough to make that conclusion." apparently in his experience there are no exceptions to this stereotype, boy could i prove that wrong.

I'm a young guy. I fit into his generalization. I know a 19 year old who would destroy any of the 50+ year olds in car knowledge. I know plenty of young guys that just love driving cars, and they love being able to drive a car like an S2000. I see about 10 cars a day with loud fartcan exhausts on them. And considering I see thousands of cars every day that is a minuscule percentage. The teenager and lower twenties age group is a huge percentage of people driving cars, and to generalize that entire age group is simply ridiculous and frankly immature.

I have a feeling this thread turned into the complete opposite of what the OP intended.

If you read my post, you'll see I said our age groups is full of douchebags, I didn't say everyone is. I went out of my way to mention that people here seem really cool. Now if you want to read into it more than that, then that's your prerogative. That's my experience at 27 years old, obviously yours is different.

Again, I said guys in that age group is full of douchebags. I did not say, everyone into cars is a douchebag. There's a difference.

Just to contribute to the poll, which will probably hurt my personal reputation on this forum, I am 20. I bought my own car. It is fully paid for. I am a production manager to an international company. I have been married nearly 2 years. I would be a fool to try and claim half of the life experience of anyone double my age....(this is intentionally an obvious statement)

My car is stock. I love it how it is. However, being that this was not a $100k+ car new, there certainly is room for tasteful, performance enhancing modifications. I absolutely agree with the OP about some dumb threads on here, but I have never been on any forum that doesn't have dumb threads. Plus, I see threads that were started back in 2002 which are equally dumb, so I do not think it is purely the step-up-from-civic group(Which I do not belong to. This is my first Honda)

As with anything, the taste and culture of the car world has changed with time. Is it unfair to say a young person is wrong because their favorite band is Five Finger Death Punch(not a huge fan, just an example) instead of Jimi Hendrix. No. As time goes by, culture changes.

To the OP, I am truly sorry that you are so offended by the change in culture as time goes by. I hope you can look past ricers, as nearly all people have to do when so intimately involved in any specific "club" for their car.

P.S. Any suggestions?
