I'm not quite sure it works that way.

So you're saying that if I get into a wreck, no matter how extensive the damage, I can get the car totalled? I'd get laughed at.

I picked up the car from Rick Case Honda a few days ago, and I have driven it for a few miles now and it "seems" to be working. The guys at Rick Case found a lot more damage on teardown and they gave me pics. The total repair cost came up to about 12,500. I am going to have it appraised next week to get further documentation to take to court now I have to decide what am am going to do with the car. I also heard that Beach Honda has fired the tech who crashed the car, but I have not been over there since. I wrote the attorney general, CAD and BBB they all contacted them. Below is Beach Honda's official statement.

Oh and I relpied to their official statment to call them out on their bullsh*t
Hello Ms Norman:
Thank you for your help in this matter. I read the official
response
from the company. I have to point out a misrepresentation of the truth.
As of the time that this is being written 2 months after the fact Beach
Honda has NOT contributed any money whatsoever to rental car coverage.
The rental fee came up to $2007 of which my insurance company paid
$1500
and the rest has come out of MY pocket. Beach Honda is yet to honor
their agreement to cover the rental. What they are saying in their
response is false. Also the ONLY estimate that was presented to me by
Beach Honda was that from Superior Appraisal Services (George Diaz),
Geico is my insurance company and they examined the car upon my request
NOT that of Beach Honda. It is obvious to me that they are not stating
the facts in a fair or honest manner.

I don't know if it's already been pointed out, but you most likely have a record of the accident now on the car's CARFAX report (which will make selling a bit tougher). I wish you the best of luck in getting the most out of this situation- I would definitely pursue further action (which it sounds like you're still doing). It's a Honda dealership- they could and SHOULD have replaced your car with a new one, or at least one that's close to new. I mean, they would be able to afford it easily and they wouldn't be taking a huge loss since they pay WELL under MSRP.

That all said, good luck! I've had quite a few problems with a dealership down here in Tucson who screwed my brother on an SRT-4 (the thing was raped on by the first owner). I will say that taking legal action in situations like this is NEVER an easy thing. Good luck- hopefully things pan out a bit better for you're unfortunate situation.

Hey raw.

Sorry to have to read this post. After 9 pages ( and probably as many weeks for you) its sad to see way it was handled on behalf of Beach Honda.

I hope good things come to you shortly.

Take care man.

oh man im so sorry. my mom just bought an 04 maxima, and a week later a spot on the bumper the size of a dime began to bubble. when she took it to the daelership to say WTF, they offered her an entirely new car right away! i guess we are just lucky out here... i hope the dealership in your casr gets stuck with every cent of damage. just dont loose hope/interest and let them win..

Hey guys, I am not going to just let this go because I am very angry, it is not just about $$$ anymore. I just got a phone call it seems there is a new general manager at BH and he wants to get together to resolve this amicably he said. I will meet with him on wed. My next step if we don't resolve it is to get an appraiser to look at the car like I said and work something out in court. Oh I also took out an ad in autotrader with pics and a brief discription of what happened. Thanks for all the support guys
