How about a better description of the smell? Sweet? Acrid? Sulfurous? Words mean things, and are a big help in helping you.

i had this same problem the other day too. i keep thinkin its the clutch. I did my first burnout a few days ago, and lit them up pretty good. the next day for the next few days, the car smelled like a rubber burning smell. it doesnt do it anymore, but i think i burned my clutch or something.

ever since my clutch slipped my clutch never felt the same again. It takes more play to engage the clutch now. what do you thinks the problem? could it be my master cylinder or a leak? does the problem require fixing any other parts such as the flywheel? I wanna save my clutch and last option is replacing it.

but if im on a red light, and in first gear, and i slowly ease off the clutch and give it gas, it feels like the rear tires are spinning. i dont know if slippage is the right word. i mean, the car wont take off right away when i give it gas, it kinda just stays there for a second...anyone know what im talkin about?

Every once in a while I get a burning smell also. Don't know if it's the same as yours, but I have smelled around and I thought that the smell was coming from my rear tires. I don't have s-02's any more though, I got some yoks. That could be the problem.

exact same thing happened to me.....didn't burn out or drop the clutch or even anything remotely close....but I smelled something (similar to a burnt clutch) coming from the rear.....was thinking it was the brakes for some reason? not sure
