Definitive S2000 CR Thread
I wonder how much retail this is ...........35k-38k for that? You know dealer will mark this up 40-45k to hype up the CR club ricer crowd
Would some of you seriosuly pay more then a normal s2k for this? 5k more? 8k more? 10k?
I have my fun fund filled up ready for a new project car again and no way would I ever buy this over a normal s2k if I was in the market for one.
Crazinesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

To you guys who insist on being trolls and continue to argue about racial issues... SHUT THE F**K UP!!!! Take it somewhere else. Anybody who brings up race in a car forum is dumber than dirt. Do us all a favor and go somewhere else.

:fueling the fire:
The news hasn't been recieved so well here in S2000Ville, but other forums seem to take a liking to it. Same thing happened when the AP2 came out..."8000rpm?!?!?!?!?! Softer ride? It looks ugly." It'll be accepted in the future. And I've seen WAAAAAY more uglier modded S2k's than that. As I said, this car has been liked by non-s2k owners. Most s2k owners are looking from the inside in. But outsiders are looking at it, and it looks, well...fresh. Most people aren't receptive to change, especially with a good car like our beloved s2k. But I have a feeling people will accept it for what it is. After all, it's still an S2000.
I will say I like the tonneau cover and wing. But I like the tonneau cover and wing because what I would use it for. I plan on gutting my soft-top, but don't want a big giant hole there for those days I want to take the hardtop (when I get one) off, and ride roofless. I would like to get the wing, because it's wind tunnel tested, and isn't ginormous. So I can get some downforce, and have a wing that's still streetable (cop friendly). And, some may not like it, but I think that's one of the better looking wings on an S2k. So can't wait til they sell this seperately.

the major boards I've been on, call this a joke as well. I belive the opinion in the s2k world and other car enthusiasts are the same.............

Hi vishnus11, who are you again?
A. The S2000's handling could use improvement. Its excellent but not perfect.
A. So that means what?... Honda has to be cheap?
A. My infinite wisdom says Honda just created a turbo for use on the RDX. My infinate wisdon also says "Honda NA, use the thing."
A. THE "CR" comes with cruise control.... very useful on the track...
A. Its called "Infinite Wisdom"

2. People are willing to pay $12000 more for a car that starts in the lower 40s and wears a BMW badge. Even then, the Z4M is selling poorly. Not to mention the Z4 has many useful years left in its platform. You want Honda to invest big bucks into building a limited edition run of an 8 year old car that would cost close to $50k for the consumer? Get a clue.
3. The K23 won't work in the S2000, and it will dull the S2000s edgy character. The K series motors are fantastic but are biased towards smoothness and refinement when compared to the F20C. S2000 owners want something raw like the F20C which for example lacks balance shafts unlike the K23. Secondly, reengineering the turbo for the F20C would cost BIG bucks (see #2). Most importantly however, the turbo would be MAJOR disappointment. Go drive an RDX - there is NOTICEABLE lag in the drivetrain. Honda made this car N/A for a reason and a turbo was ruled out very early in the S2000s development due to dulled response (per Honda's internal product reference docs)
I've seen some of your posts on this forum, and have generally agreed with what you've said. But when you compare the "CR" trim package to BMW's M division full blown special, and ask why Honda didn't do the same, you come across as amateurish and full of rubbish.
