I saw this posted on another site, and like this front-end much better!

Don't know if this was covered earlier in the thread, but does anyone know if those damn things on the sides of the front bar do anything?
They look like stupid fat cheeks, and take away from proportions of the car.

This man speaks the truth. 40k is a lot. A Z06 is an aggresively tuned C6. i highly doubt hondas definition of aggresive is anything near the Corvette's people.
For me to be interested:
0-60 in 4.5, quarter mile in 13.0
Hardtop, AC, radio.
Suspension tweaks.
I dont care if its FI or not
Now thats what i call aggressive.

I can't read all the posts anymore, but FWIW (including nothing):
I am not upset or angry about this model at all. But I do feel it does not live up to its name. Simple as that. It is no race car or track car/DE car. The degree of weight reduction is insignificant when one considers the hardtop is probably required on many tracks, and there is no safety equipment.
Cosmetically, not my cup of tea, but function is more important to me. Couldn't really care less about the looks IF the package were complete, but this car was a baby step, not a real leap.
Anyway, I am sure it will be a hoot to drive, but for someone sho is actively looking for a track-worthy/ready car, I would rather buy a used S2k and mod it appropriately, etc. This is too expensive a car (compared to a used stock S2K at around $20k) to start with, given the amount of work still needed...
The s2000 is one of the best cars I have ever driven, bar none. Sure it has weakensses, but it was very well done from the get-go. Never said otherwise. But the CR is an incremental step - and not enough of one - to justify its cost. A bit of a letdown and not what it could have been.
I'll reserve judgement on the stripped version till we hear more about it.
Bye!

These magazines are comparing the CR with the "Type R". The reason the Type R was so great had to do with being an order of magnitude greater than what it started out to be "GS-R".
It's too little too late
