Anyone know whether it's a loss line item?
The S2000 was reportedly profitable after the first year. I remember reading that, but I'm too lazy to search for a link.

There is only 200 CR that is stripped, (the version that everyone wants)there are 50 states. The other 1800 Cr is just a normal AP2 with goodies and no wt reduction.

What makes any of us think we'll get one? (the 200Cr version)

This sucks. I really wanted to get one ... looks like I'm just dreaming ...

Why wouldn't it be? 150 lbs is 150 lbs no matter where you put it at. On a track, in the street, anywhere. Less weight will be allow the car to power out of corners harder and accelerate faster. If you had the ability to control everything and the only variable is a drivers weight, a 150 lb driver will be faster than a 250 lb driver. It is simple power to weight ratio.
We are arguing static facts that don't exist yet.
I am just pointing out that 150lbs is not a good enough weight reduction for this car to make a big difference.

Man, I'm gone for 12 hours, and almost 150 posts pop up on this topic! I need to check herre more often...

B-C, thanks for the coffee beans!

I can't wait to see pictures, even though I know I probably won't ever own one of the CR's.

Wow you're kidding me right. The S doesn't even weigh much to begin with, so yes 150 pounds is very considerable. If it weighed 2 tons, then 150 might be negligible. We're talking about a 5 percent weight difference here, which is a lot.

On a side note, do you think the 200 version might be cheaper than the 1800 version seeing that its "stripped?"

how about a removable t-top type? something like the del sol. The beauty of the s2k is its convertible feature. (to me atleast)

i'd hate to see a s2k without that option... i hope it's a easy "romovable" t/hard top...

regardless... we shall find out in a few hours.

not sure on the pricing but considering Zarnardi NSX costed same as NSX-T of same year, if CR loses softtop, it shouldn't cost too much either
