my money is on a mis-shift. If the entire engine was replaced, great...if it was rebuilt by a reputable shop, even better...more compression

 

I bought my MY00 with 60,000 miles for 10,500 a year and a half ago, there are better deals

 

Moneyshift, or it could have been run low on oil. It happens. It was a long time ago. At this point, I wouldn't worry about it.

 

high 12s is a high price...I'd talk them down to around 10 or so...dont get talked into paying more than 11 for it if you do decide to buy. You have a lot of leverage due to the circumstances.

 

A Honda Dealership is legit? Worst place to do your maintenance. They probably found a bad spark plug and decided to replace the engine at 14K.

Shop around and be patient, like said above is the best advise. I'd personally wont buy a S2000 unless it had only one owner.

 

U can do better than that ...i bought an 03 a yr ago with 27k for 12,200.00 ...they are out there just have to do some foot work ...best of luck !!
